Harper Holds Closed Door Meeting with Muslims

Yes, that's right. He has decided that the Muslim community is worthy of his time and attention. Yet he still keeps his distance from the Native issues that are happening all across this country. There is no money to move Kashechewan and there is no need for his attention in the Caledonia dispute.

Kashechewan where there has been the need to evacuate the whole communty three times in twelve months. Twice for flooding (an issue they have been trying to address with the government for over 50 years) and once for unsafe water. Right this moment, they still await word as to when they can return to their homes. Yesterday that was again put off, for atleast another month.

Caledonia where the racism and anger is rising like the tide. Where the natives are getting restless and taking it out on those around them. Their voices are not being heard. They are dealing with, on a daily basis, racism and attacks from the community that surrounds them. And because of this pressure a few have crossed the line. They have indeed turned violent and unruly. Something that I do NOT condone, but I can see why it is leading down this road. The SUV full of people the was uncereomniously emptied by the Natives. It was an SUV full of Americans come to watch the activities in Caledonia. The OPP says they were boarder patrol that came to observe. I say they were nosey and callous, coming to gawk and point at the rebellious redskins of the North.

Steven Harper you owe us your time. We are a large portion of the population and we count just as much as the Muslims.
